Hopped out of bed at 6.40am this morning, and realised I have not showered for 2 days, cold weather you see.
I will need to take a morning shower, so might as well sweat it out beforehand; decided to get on my bike and experience Coastal Rd on a weekday morning.
I felt almost guilty as I rode past scores of $ingaporeans walking to/ waiting at the bus-stops; these people are rushing to work while I'm on a leisure ride in the cool morning air.
There were more than the usual number of vehicles along Xilin Avenue on the way to Coastal Rd, quite a few heavy ones too, not fun. Not a single roadie in sight.
Changi Beach Park was nice and peaceful, with graceful trees providing shade all the way. Rode past the SAF jetty and saw a long queue of soldiers and civilians waiting to be seaborne for Tekong.
I didn't even dismount at Changi Village hawker centre. Instead, I continued on towards Loyang, and made a stopover at school to make 3 photocopies of my passport for my cycling trip to Desaru.
Reached home, turned on the telly to Channel Newsasia, and what d'ya know, I see Melissa Hyak holding a huge watch in her hands, and it's the Jaeger LeCoultre Gyro-tourbillon. Yes, that masterpiece of a watch that is worth half a million $ing dollars. Turns out it is an interview with a JLC watchmaker (Frank Martin) who looks like Matt LeBlanc (Joey in 'Friends'). Of course, it all made sense, the special preview of the JLC exhibition is at Ngee Ann City tonight, and JLC has brought its team here. Will probably get to see that watchmaker when I'm there.
Will be joining NUS ODAC for a cycling trip to Desaru over the next 2 days. Yesterday, Mr Ee signed my 'permission to go overseas' form promptly and wrote beside his signature: 'Have a nice trip'.
