Nostalgic Neurons

Watched Blood And Bones at Orchard Cineleisure this morning. An epic film. 'Beat' Takeshi Kitano was excellent in his role as a horny, violent tyrant. Funny thing was, I had my iPod Nano with the rising sun Japanese flag decal on it, and I caught a glimpse of the flag in the film, as it was set in 1923 Japan.

Evening, as I was making my way to Street 82 to da-bao fried rice from the coffeeshop, I saw an old foursome (2 men, 2 ladies) playing a game of 'chap-ji-kee' at a void-deck. Game was played using those traditional elongated coloured cards. Now, that's a sight you hardly see nowadays.

Golden Village refused to reimburse me 2 tickets. Bollocks. But things kind of brightened up when I received a mail from Citibank offering me a free pair of tickets to Memoirs of a Geisha. Having a bank account with Citibank has its privileges.

Why credit card booking with Cathay is better than Golden Village:
- booking fee for Cathay is 50 cts, GV is $1.
- Orchard charges your card ONLY when you turn up to collect your tickets, while GV deducts from your card the moment you book online, never mind that you may fail to collect the tickets for one reason or another.
