Something to brighten your day

No, I am not referring to shots of babes. Just that I was going through the mug-shots for my Secondary 3 form class, and came across this irreverent (but inspired) pose by Asnim!

When your day feels like this:

Try to change it to this!

Look Ma, no tsunami

The low prices were too tempting, so jetted off to Phuket for a 5D4N stay (13 June - 17 June, Patong Bayshore Hotel) at $200 per head.
Included was a half-day city tour. Bought a stingray leather keychain. Went for a 1-day snorkelling trip to Phi-Phi Island and others. Stuffed myself with McDonald's french fries. Took 4 eggs (2 sunny-side up; 2 scrambled with cheese) every morning at the hotel's breakfast buffet. Patong Beach looked none the worse about 6 months after the tsunami; the Thais have worked hard to restore it to pre-tsunami condition.

Click HERE for the music video of Since I Left You by The Avalanches!

Click HERE for the music video of Frontier Psychiatrist by The Avalanches! The wackiest music video I have seen.

I can't wait for The Avalanches to release their 2nd album!

Just successfully signed up for Session 1 of a series of talks by invited speakers as part of the MOE ExCEL Fest on 1 July.
As the website says: "will give staff an opportunity to interact with speakers from various walks of life, personalities who embody the attributes of I&E. The speakers will include notables in business, sports and adventure, the arts and culture and science and technology."
Of course, it helped that Miss Lee Huei Min (violinist) would be one of the 3 speakers for Session 1.

2 ridiculous things:

1) WWE Afterburn is on TV now. Eddie Durrell (dunno whether correct spelling), this Latino-looking wrestler, is in the middle of the ring talking to the audience, and fishes out what looks like a colourful piece of underwear and starts shouting at it(apparently it belongs to another wrestler called Mysterio). Looks ridiculous, but a closer look reveals that it's actually a face-mask! Haha. No wonder the name Mysterio, that mask must have been on his face all the time.

2) HDB new towns are notorious for giving names to sections of their estate; those names are plastered on conspicuous structures, apparently to give a touch of 'class' and a sense of identity and character to the estate. If you live in the Heartlands, you will know what I mean.
This is not meant to be a debate of whether this naming exercise is a success or a failure; I just want to highlight this name that I came across for the group of flats opposite a tertiary institution in Tampines-- TAMPINES POLYVIEW.
Now, everyone knows the prefix 'poly' means 'multi' or 'several', for example, POLYGAMY means being married to several wives. However, the 'poly' in POLYVIEW here actually refers to Temasek Polytechnic. Ridiculous or not?
