I have just discovered the blog of Scott Adams, creator of Dilbert!
I am so happy! So fun to read! And I can read all the archives also, yay!

Scott Adams also recommended this comic strip: Pearls Before Swine. And I have to agree with him, it is really funny! The comic has animals who talk, and one of them is a crocodile who speaks and writes in broken English!

For SSS students only:

Finally... SSS Caroling 2005 photos are up HERE.

If you are on broadband, click on the links below to download 6 video clips I took of caroling. Nothing beats seeing moving images with sound. Great job, boys and girls! I really enjoyed the impressive repertoire of carols (and even that impromptu Spongebob Squarepants Theme); would never get tired of hearing you guys sing again and again.
Note: links will expire in 7 days from now.

So who was the cranky old pirate captain that started the Spongebob song in the bus?

Watched Blood And Bones at Orchard Cineleisure this morning. An epic film. 'Beat' Takeshi Kitano was excellent in his role as a horny, violent tyrant. Funny thing was, I had my iPod Nano with the rising sun Japanese flag decal on it, and I caught a glimpse of the flag in the film, as it was set in 1923 Japan.

Evening, as I was making my way to Street 82 to da-bao fried rice from the coffeeshop, I saw an old foursome (2 men, 2 ladies) playing a game of 'chap-ji-kee' at a void-deck. Game was played using those traditional elongated coloured cards. Now, that's a sight you hardly see nowadays.

Golden Village refused to reimburse me 2 tickets. Bollocks. But things kind of brightened up when I received a mail from Citibank offering me a free pair of tickets to Memoirs of a Geisha. Having a bank account with Citibank has its privileges.

Why credit card booking with Cathay is better than Golden Village:
- booking fee for Cathay is 50 cts, GV is $1.
- Orchard charges your card ONLY when you turn up to collect your tickets, while GV deducts from your card the moment you book online, never mind that you may fail to collect the tickets for one reason or another.

I have done something again which I want to kick myself for.
Last Saturday morning, happily clicked away on the Golden Village site to book 2 tickets to 6.30pm Narnia screening at GV Tampines Mall.
Turned up at 6.00pm to collect, my confirmation number wasn't recognised, and it turned out that I had stupidly booked tickets for GV Grand instead. No choice, but to buy another 2 tickets on the spot (luckily there was also a 6.30pm slot at Tampines). $20 down the drain, doh! So, I had to write a grovelling email to GV to beg them to reimburse me 2 tickets for the tickets which I failed to collect. Their reply hasn't come yet.
